New Wave Home Care
Providing Exceptional Care for Over 15 Years
When you choose New Wave Home Care Pasadena, you can rest assured that all of our efforts will be focused precisely where they should be: on providing exceptional care for you or your loved one. As a premier provider of non-medical private in-home care, we hold ourselves to a better standard of care—because we know that is exactly what we would want for our own loved ones.
New Wave Home Care is Locally Owned
If you are looking for locally owned and operated in-home care, look no further. New Wave Home Care is a locally-owned, in-home care agency. We are not a franchise or part of some huge corporation. We’re a locally-owned business in our neighborhood and that makes us unique! Almost all the rest are all either franchises or part of a large corporate setup.
We’re your neighbors and we care about making sure that those in our community receive quality care!
Why Families Choose Us for Home Care
Having serviced the San Gabriel Valley community since 2009, we have earned our reputation for providing compassionate care rooted in knowledge, integrity and trust. Here are just a few of the many reasons families choose us for their home care services:
Personalized Care Plans
Our personalized care plans mean we can be where you need us, when you need us, providing the services you want – whether you need us in the home or in a retirement community. Plus, there are no age or condition requirements for care.
24/7 Availability
Whenever you or your loved one need us, we’ll be available. Our staff is available 24/7, 365 days per year to field emergency calls, handle scheduling requests, and more.
Support for the Family
Our concern and care doesn’t just end with our clients; we know that our clients’ families often need help and support working through complicated insurance paperwork. That’s why we offer start-to-finish claims support for our families.
Ongoing Evaluation
We know that needs change, which is why we perform regular supervisory visits and evaluations. This ensures that our caregivers are meeting our high standards, and that our clients are receiving the right care for their needs.
Our Process
By incorporating constant communication and open dialogue with the entire family into our evaluation and on-going care processes, we create sustainable, personalized care plans that always put the needs our clients first.
Meet Our Team

Sam Gopinathan - Founder, CEO
Sam spent the first 22 years of his career as an executive for three Fortune 500 companies—including Ford Motor Company—but he decided his love for working with people outweighed the risk of leaving those Fortune 500s behind and he made the jump to non-medical home care.
To Sam, choosing home care services was a natural fit because it is so very close to his personal beliefs. Sam knows and respects his clients, not just as business clients, but as professionals and people. “These people were very successful in their day,” he says, and they often remind him of his own parents. “My parents are both retired, and it means a lot to them that I care about their generation.”
With a background in Mechanical Engineering, Sam now turns his engineering mindset towards home care, perfecting the processes and protocols that his team uses to ensure exceptional service and satisfaction, as well as personally handling complicated insurance paperwork for his clients. For many families, freedom from the paperwork is a huge relief. Sam says clients “are always telling me how much they appreciate this. They are going through a difficult situation and appreciate not having to handle all the processing.”
Personally handling insurance paperwork is just one of the many ways Sam goes out of his way to add a personal touch for his clients. And it is these little touches that are helping New Wave Home Care of Pasadena grow.

Our Philosophy
With a caregiving philosophy rooted in dignity, respect, skill and compassion, we are committed to providing the best level of care to our clients. We know how important it is for our clients to retain their freedom and individuality, and we know what an important part of their lives our services become. That’s why we care for our clients as if they are family—and give them both the professional advice and the personal advice that we would give our own loved ones.
Why Do Families Choose New Wave Home Care Services:
We Train
We train our caregivers to meet the individual needs of each of our clients (as established by each client’s individual care assessment and personalized care plan).

We Follow
We follow stringent oversight protocols. Not only do we regularly monitor the work of our own caregivers, our caregivers are tasked with closely monitoring how clients respond to medical treatment—in order to help you hold hospitals and care facilities responsible for the care of their clients.
We Help
We help our clients navigate insurance paperwork, providing free insurance verification and claims handling. Plus, for those clients who need assistance finding financial resources to pay for care, we can help.

We Work
We work to resolve problems promptly, and in a manner that works to uncover the root cause of the problem and provide a sustainable, long-term solution.
We Bridge
We bridge the gap between client, family and primary health providers. By ensuring that health regimes are followed and keeping lines of communication open between family and health providers, our caregivers help prevent miscommunication and mistakes.

Our Caregivers
Through an intense interview and screening process, we aim to hire only those who can provide the best care for your loved ones. Our best-in-class caregivers aren’t only chosen for their ability to provide skilled, compassionate non-medical in-home care, they’re also chosen for their ability to meet our exceptional professional and interpersonal standards. As part of our caregiver selection process, each candidate must:
Complete a rigorous screening process that includes competency testing, ethics and personality testing, and comprehensive background, reference and employment checks.
- Prove their education and professional licensing standing.
- Complete a comprehensive personal interview and full-scale orientation.
Only once candidates have proven themselves through this intense employment process are they invited to care for our clients. Once onboard, our caregivers:
- Are bonded and covered by Worker’s Compensation Insurance.
- Complete general and client-specific training. Given by our nurse, client-specific training is directly correlated to a client’s plan of care, ensuring that their caregivers are following the personalized care needs and preferences of each of our clients.
- Get emergency training. Our caregivers are trained to understand and follow our emergency protocols. In addition, they can call our office 24/7 to reach staff person in the office for emergency assistance.
